Job Description:

The Job Cost Accountant is a member of the accounting team responsible for a combination of Accounts Payable/Receivable and Job Costing responsibilities Job Requirements:Accounts Payable Ensure correct and timely coding, entry, approval and posting of vendor and overhead invoices. Monitor discount opportunities, special payment terms, etc., and ensure vendors are paid accordingly. Provide final invoice approval in Timberscan AP processing software. Set up new vendors in Sage and update vendor information as required. Complete accurate, timely credit applications. Process credit card payments to vendors and maintain associated exports and worksheets. Reconcile American Express and Visa credit card accounts and attach all related receipts prior to input into the accounts payable system for payment processing. Prepare for and process weekly check run, including reporting, payment selection, and matching of checks with backup for review by Treasurer. Process and track deposits. Ensure accurate job costing of equipment and shop expenses. Respond to vendor and/or customer inquiries as required. accruals, ad hoc projects, and audits as necessary. Accounts Receivable Collections Track payments received and maintain AR tracking documents daily. Verify accuracy of lien waivers, distribute for signature, and file accordingly. Contact clients regarding payment status; collaborate with PM/Controller to escalate collections. Maintain and update AR and collections portion of meeting notes for Friday PM meetings and weekly SPD meetings. Develop professional relationships with clients and vendors. Billings & Cash Receipts Assist with A/R billings Administrative Provide administrative assistance for Strategic Planning meetings; prepare, update and distribute minutes and agendas and perform additional tasks as required. - Core Competencies: Ability to communicate in a professional manner. Discreet when handling sensitive or confidential information. - QUALIFICATIONS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is a plus with a minimum of four years' related experience. Data entry skills and proficiency with databases and computer applications, including MS Office. Experience with Sage 300, TimberScan, and Procore software preferred. Language Skills: Must be able to express ideas and thoughts clearly and effectively in both written and verbal communication. - Must exhibit outstanding listening and comprehension skills. Reasoning Ability: - - Must be able to collect information, analyze and identify issues quickly and should be able to develop creative alternative solutions.
