Job Description:
CHEP, a leader in sustainable logistics and a Brambles company,
is currently seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our
Engineering & Maintenance team. This role is crucial for ensuring
the optimal functioning of our automated systems which handle the
management, maintenance, and transportation of pallets and
containers globally. The Technician will be responsible for
troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving our automation
equipment, thereby directly contributing to the efficiency and
sustainability of CHEP's supply chain solutions. Perform routine
diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitoring operation and
diagnosing malfunctions. Repair and maintain robots, conveyors, and
other automated and electrical equipment. Install new equipment and
update existing configurations to meet new production goals. Work
collaboratively with IT and engineering teams to integrate new
technologies and ensure systems are cohesive and aligned with
business needs. Assist in developing maintenance strategies and
proactive maintenance of automation equipment. Document repair
actions and system performance, reporting findings to the
management. Maintain safety standards in all aspects of work and
follow industry compliance regulations. Proficiency in
troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and
automation software. Strong understanding of robotics, control
systems, and machine operation. Ability to interpret blueprints,
schematics, and other technical documents. Good communication
skills and the ability to work well in a team. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certification
in Automation, such as a Certified Automation Professional (CAP) is
preferred. Relevant training or certification in PLC
programming.
