Job Description:
The Sustaining Engineering Manager is responsible for oversight
and leadership of the sustaining engineering department, currently
a team of 6 engineers. The position will mostly focus on lean
manufacturing improvements and validation protocols including IQ,
OQ, and PQ. The position also has room for growth into a Director
level position Client DetailsMy client is a well established
medical device manufacturer, mainly focused on the plastics and
contract manufacturing industries. The role is with one of our best
clients that we've made many placements with over the years as the
company has been steadily expanding as sales continue to grow.
DescriptionThis role will report into the Director of Process
Engineering and be responsible for:
- Improving processes for cost reduction, throughput enhancement,
and quality improvement.
- Collaborating with Customer Service and Applications
Engineering to interpret specifications and communicate them to
Production.
- Continuously evaluating methods to enhance workflow and
productivity.
- Analyzing Non-Conformance Reports and CAPA's, conducting Root
Cause Analysis, and implementing corrective actions with
Quality.
- Contributing to safety policy development across the site.
- Developing Validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ), determining
sample sizes, and critical process variables statistically.
- Designing tooling and fixturing for production.
- Maintaining production documentation with a focus on
improvement, productivity, and quality.
- Managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines
efficiently.
- Coordinating with various teams to ensure products meet
customer requirements.
- Approaching challenges with flexibility and an open mind.
- Handling multiple projects concurrently at different
stages.
- Analyzing and presenting data to senior management.
- Overseeing team recruitment, reviews, and personal
development.ProfileA successful candidate will have:
- 10+ years experience in medical device, plastics, or contract
manufacturing
- 5+ years of management experience
- Six Sigma lean and root cause analysis knowledge
- Validation protocol experience
- ISO 133845 knowledge
- ERP/SAP understanding
