We are offering an outstanding opportunity for New Graduate Registered Nurses to join our team of nursing professionals in Inpatient Psychiatry CHA is thrilled to announce the introduction of a psychiatric nurse residency program for new graduate nurses. This program will provide a coordinated, systematic approach to onboarding, orienting and transitioning new graduate nurses into clinical practice. This program will support the professional role transition, integration, and socialization to enable residents to transition from a beginner nurse to a competent professional nurse providing safe quality care. As a newly graduated RN in our Nurse Residency Program, you will receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you will need to become the highest caliber nurse. This invaluable program will enable a clear career path into nursing. For this cohort we have the following departments available: Cambridge Hospital: Inpatient Adult Psychiatry- 3 units Everett Hospital: Geriatric Inpatient Psychiatry & Adult Inpatient Psychiatry- 2 units Somerville Hospital: Center for Child, Neuro-developmental, and Adolescent Psychiatry- 3 units What to expect: -Start Date: On or around Aug 21 -Intensive 16-week psychiatric nurse clinical orientation as well as a 12-month residency classroom program that focuses on the tenets of the CCNE entry-to-practice standards. -Clinical orientation primarily consists of one-on-one preceptor guidance with the goal of independent performance in the clinical environment while following a curriculum designed specifically for new graduate nurses -Classroom time will provide education through a variety of educational methods (typically 4-8 hours per month) including lecture, group discussion, case studies, and more. -Starting Pay: $37.66/h Qualifications: -Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing- all ADN or BSN applicants will be considered. BSN preferred. -Must have graduated between August 2022 and March 2023. -No prior RN or LPN experience in acute care or psychiatric settings. -Prior experience in psychiatric care areas in a non-RN/LPN role is preferred. -American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification required -Must be available to attend central nursing orientation by July 19, 2023 What we need from you: Initial Application Requirements: Updated Resume Letter of Intention (aka Why do YOU want to be a psychiatric nurse?), noting which area(s) you are interested in applying for (see list of available areas above).
