This is a highly rewarding role at Hartford Hospital which includes both inpatient and outpatient care. Must be self-motivated and flexible to meet the demands of the specialty. The provider should exhibit a passion for structural heart disease and be open to being part of a rapidly growing and evolving program where adaptability is paramount. Must have an understanding of procedures offered such as TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement), TMVR (transcatheter mitral valve replacement), Mitraclip, left atrial appendage closure, and patent foramen ovale/atrial septal defect closure. Must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team including interventional cardiologists and cardiac surgeons and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Educate patient and family members ensuring they understand the care being provided, testing being performed, medical conditions including treatment regimens and expected outcomes. Clinical management in collaboration with the physicians in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. Strong clinical background and the ability to diagnose, treat and manage complex cardiovascular care including acute and chronic disease, medication management and structural heart therapies. Must have ability to identify diagnostic information that should be considered emergent and communicate timely information to physician colleague.
  Qualifications
  Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible) Training: FNP, ANP, ACNP, AGNP, PA Experience: At least two years of post-graduate experience as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Candidates with cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery experience preferred.
