Job Description We are seeking a skilled and passionate Occupational Therapist to provide direct services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in middle and high school settings. The ideal candidate will conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and collaborate with educational teams to enhance student participation in academic and social activities. Key Responsibilities: Direct Services: Provide individualized occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs. Develop and implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills. Utilize evidence-based practices to enhance students'; ability to participate in school activities and achieve their educational goals. Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess students’ functional abilities and needs. Analyze assessment results and develop detailed reports that guide intervention planning. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and review IEP goals and objectives. Educate and train staff on occupational therapy strategies to support student learning and engagement. Maintain open communication with families regarding students’ progress and recommendations. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding occupational therapy services in educational settings. Qualifications Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Massachusetts. Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred. Experience working with middle and high school students in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong understanding of IEP processes Additional Information Our people are what make us Uncommon. Our compensation philosophy values equity & fairness and attracting & retaining top talent. Compensation Compensation for this role is between $71,000 to $116,000. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $71,000 - $80,000. Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. * The range above represents our compensation scales for the 2026-2027 school year. If starting prior to June 30th, 2026, compensation will be based on a slightly lower range, reflective of current compensation scales. New hires who fall into this category will see an increase in their compensation starting on July 1st, 2026 for next school year which aligns to the scale above.
