Job Description:
Central Vermont Medical Center, a proud member of the University
of Vermont Health Network, is seeking a dedicated Infection
Preventionist to join our team. This role is pivotal in
implementing and maintaining our infection prevention standards and
protocols to ensure the safety and health of our patients and
staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
epidemiology and infection control practices within a healthcare
setting. Responsibilities include surveillance, data analysis,
reporting infections, educating staff, and the development and
implementation of policies aimed at minimizing the risk of
infection. This position requires someone passionate about
community wellness and patient-centered care, in alignment with our
commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services. Conduct
ongoing surveillance using CDC infection criteria, NHSN
definitions, and other methodologies. Analyze infection data to
identify trends and outbreaks. Develop and implement infection
prevention policies and procedures that meet state, federal, and
accreditation standards. Educate healthcare personnel on infection
prevention practices. Participate in the investigation of
infections and provide recommendations for corrective action.
Prepare detailed reports and provide findings to relevant
stakeholders. Collaborate with department heads to ensure
compliance with infection prevention standards. Knowledge of
epidemiology and infectious diseases. Ability to analyze complex
data sets and provide actionable insights. Strong interpersonal and
communication skills. Proficiency in using healthcare IT systems
relevant to infection surveillance. Capability to design and lead
educational sessions. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance Certified in Infection Control (CIC)
certification preferred. Strong understanding of compliance
requirements of healthcare regulatory agencies.
