Job Description Job Description Debt Finance Associate Attorney Locations: Boston, Chicago, Denver, Washington, DC, Santa Monica, Downtown Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, Reston, San Diego, San Francisco Position: Associate – Debt Finance Compensation Range: $225,000–$365,000 (location and experience dependent) Direct Counsel is seeking a Debt Finance Associate to join a top-tier, nationally recognized law firm’s highly regarded Debt Finance practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for attorneys seeking sophisticated work, strong deal flow, and career progression within an elite platform. About the Role The firm is hiring associates with 1–5 years of experience representing lenders, borrowers, and/or private equity sponsors in debt financing transactions. Candidates with less than one full year of experience should apply directly to the firm, as the firm is not working with search partners for early junior candidates. Ideal Background Candidates should have experience in some or all of the following: Secured lending transactions Drafting and negotiating transaction documents, including issues lists Managing or supporting closings Article 9 of the UCC Acquisition financing, including commitment papers Debt securities offerings (e.g., high-yield or convertible notes) General corporate law exposure Qualifications J.D. from a nationally recognized law school Strong academic credentials Training and experience from a large law firm environment Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills Compensation & Benefits The expected compensation range is $225,000–$365,000 , depending on location, experience, and skillset.
