in these areas. The Office of District Reviews, Monitoring, and
Assistance conducts district reviews that are designed to identify
the systems, policies, and practices that drive the day-to-day work
of school districts, as well as those factors that may help or
hinder staff performance and, ultimately, student outcomes. The
Office of District Reviews, Monitoring, and Assistance, within the
Center for Data, Assessment and Accountability is seeking a
District Review Support Specialist. The District Review Support
Specialist will support the Director of District and School
Accountability in the coordination of annual district reviews
conducted by the Office of District Reviews, Monitoring, and
Assistance as required by state law (M.G.L. c. 15, 55A). The
District Review Support Specialist will also support the production
of the written reports that result from each district review. Key
Responsibilities: Supporting the Director of District and School
Accountability in communicating with districts in preparation for
upcoming reviews; Maintaining knowledge of the District Standards
and Indicators around which district reviews are centered, and
working with DESE leadership and stakeholders to ensure the
standards and indicators remain up-to-date and relevant (as
needed); Designing, administering, and analyzing surveys to gather
feedback from districts and consultants; Supporting the Director of
District and School Accountability in planning and improving the
district review process and other Office of District Reviews,
Monitoring, and Assistance initiatives, as appropriate; and Other
duties, as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: The successful
candidate will possess: Strong organizational skills; Excellent
written and oral communication skills; Experience preparing reports
and presenting them to a wide variety of audiences; Familiarity
with Massachusetts education data, issues, and policies; The
ability to collect, understand, present, analyze, and interpret
qualitative and quantitative data accurately and objectively;
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight
deadlines; and Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative
environment as well as work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of and expertise with racial equity, combating implicit
bias, cultural competency in the context of the educational system.
Facility with technology, including the ability to quickly orient
knowledge and skills to utilize new applications and tools (e.g.,
experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Access, among others). Please include a cover letter

Requirements: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least
(A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional
experience in a specific, relevant, or related content area,
educational program or service. Substitutions: A Masters degree or
higher in a specific or related educational content area may be
substituted for two years of the required experience. 30 semester
hours equals one year of experience for substitution purposes.
Education toward a degree in a specific or related educational
content area will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the
requirements actually completed. Applicants must have a Bachelors
