Job Description
Specific Duties will include: - Creating and documenting manual
test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test scripts. -
Executing test cases and documenting test results. - Helping with
the development and execution of test automation scripts in a web
services development environment. - Maintaining and updating defect
logs and test status. - Organizing and maintaining test
documentation for every release. - Testing the application using
sound engineering practices and employing solid Source Code
Management practices. - To mentor and develop other QA members of
the BI team - Software black box and white box testing, load
testing, and integrated systems testing. - Daily usage of the
following tools: JIRA, Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint. -
Strong SQL querying, testing of database content and multiple
interfaces, including SOA and Web Services. - Testing Java and Dot
Net Web based applications including Power BI reports and/or other
technologies. - May be required to be available for stand by duty
and, if necessary, overtime hours to resolve critical system
problems and/or perform production system maintenance as well as to
respond to emergencies. Minimum Qualifications: - 4+ years of
experience testing in one or more of the following environments:
Manual Functional Testing, RDBMS testing, UI testing. - 4+ years of
experience with any major RDBMS, preferably Oracle Server, and the
ability to write SQL queries using table joins - Basic knowledge of
test automation development methodologies and test automation tools
(i.e., UFT, Selenium, QTP, Silk or other) - 4+ year experience
testing BI Reports - 4+ years of experience as a software quality
assurance specialist - At least 3 year of experience with web
services APIs and complex data structures. - Minimum of a
Bachelor's Degree with a major in software engineering, computer
science, or a related field. - Strong knowledge of a typical Agile,
SDLC, and SQA standards and methodology - Excellent
troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills - Ability
to write quality defects and work directly with developers to
resolve the defects - Testing experience in different web browsers
on various operating systems and on Cloud platform. - Excellent
problem solving and analytical skills and a strong testing
aptitude. - Experience testing databases and knowledge of advance
SQL queries. - Project life cycle experience in a structured
development methodology. - Experience working on web applications
for public release. Preferred Qualifications: - Hands-on testing
experience with web services and SOA interfaces. - Experience in
testing and evaluating vendor-supplied software. - Ability to write
complex SQL queries and development experience would be a plus. -
Experience with COTS testing tools such as Silk, QTP, Selenium or
Selenium or other. - Experience related to educational standards,
curriculum frameworks and teaching applications would be a plus. -
Proven track record working on large-scale projects with diverse
stakeholders and with crossfunctional teams. - Ability to adjust to
changing situations to address emergencies, program changes, or
production requirements. - Ability to exercise sound judgment and
use discretion in handling confidential information. - Preferably
